The Glenisla Highland Games is held at the Haugh at Forter. It's a great way to sample the local culture, from the popular "heavy" events to the more artistic (if no less frenetic) practices of Scottish dancing and bagpiping.

Since 1858 the Haugh has been the home to the annual Glenisla Highland Games in August.
Directions
Forter is in the area of Angus in Scotland's Grampian region called Glen Isla. It is on the River Isla, 6km (4 miles) north-west of Kirkton of Isla.
By Road: off the A93. Take the B95 east, and take the first left, which leads to Forter and Auchavan.
The Haugh is south of the village.
