The Saint Patrick Centre in Downpatrick is an interpretive exhibition focussing on Ireland's patron saint. Visitors can see Saint Patrick's grave in the churchyard next to the centre, before exploring how the Saint's legacy developed in early Christian times.
Another section of the centre examines the major impact of Irish missionaries during Dark Age Europe.
As well as historical exhibits, there are arts and crafts exhibitions, a restaurant, an internet cafe, tourist information centre, crafts and gift shops and a BBC regional studio.
Please note that during low season (October to March), the centre only opens on Sunday on request (for groups).
